Program Structure /Study Regulations

The structure and course of the programme are set out in the 2023 study and examination regulations. These contain a sample study plan, describe module content and provide an overview of the respective examination requirements, credit points (LP) and workload for each module. They also specify the requirements for the Master's thesis.

The 2018 study and examination regulations, which were amended and supplemented in 2021, are thus no longer valid.

Change from the 2018 to the 2023 study regulations

All students must switch from the 2018 study and examination regulations by the end of January 2026 at the latest, as the old study and examination regulations will expire and will no longer be used in teaching from the 2026 summer semester onwards. If you have completed all your exams but have not yet written your master's thesis, it is not worth changing the regulations. However, if you still have to take seminars or language courses, please note that from the summer semester 2026 onwards, no credits can be recognized under the 2018 study and examination regulations. In this case, a change is advisable and necessary. The assignment of courses is done in consultation with the module coordinators of the 2023 examination regulations; the formal assignment is carried out by the examination board.

Here are the two forms you need to change the examination regulations:

  1. Fill out the “Anrechnungsbescheinigung” form in the appropriate columns.

  2. Go to the module coordinator, who will make and confirm the assignment. For this, you will need the “Vorlage Ordnungswechselbescheid.”

  3. Then send both forms to the OEI examination board!
