History
Institute for East European Studies - Freie Universität Berlin
Address
Garystraße 5514195 Berlin
The chair’s teaching and research activities focus on the historic cultural landscapes of east-central and eastern Europe in the 19th and 20 century. The history of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union are being studied under a global history perspective. Transnational entanglements are a particular emphasis here.
Our main point of exchange and discussion is the colloquium, to which everyone interested is invited!
Prof. Dr. Robert Kindler took over the head of the chair for the winter semester 2021/22 and the summer semester 2022.
