Kai Franke also served as a project manager and consultant at the Humboldt-Universtät zu Berlin, the University Essen-Duisburg and in a Tempus Project with the Technological University Dresden.

Mr. Franke studied Political Science, Islamic Studies and Russian Studies at the Humboldt-Universität zuBerlinfrom 1990 till 1996. In addition, he completed an exchange semester at the Moscow State Linguistic University in 1991/1992 and internships in Damascus, Syria in 1994 in Chisinau, Moldova in 1995.
