Jana Almes is a national coordinator of the Programme Migration & Diaspora in Ukraine at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. She studied at University of Leipzig and National Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv. During the DAAD Scholarship for Graduates (2013-2015) in Germany she worked as student assistant at Leibniz-Institute for History and Culture of Central and Eastern Europe Leipzig and Deutsche Gesellschaft e.V. After that she did an internship at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Eschborn. After graduating from the University of Leipzig she returned to Ukraine as a Returning Expert within the Programme Migration for Development and worked as Project Manager at German Law Center, National Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv.
