Maria Polugodina is a graduate of Higher School of Economics (Moscow) and Humboldt University (Berlin). In her research, she concentrates on international trade and economic history of Europe. Her dissertation aims at providing insights into the adjustment of trade to exogenous shocks and interactions between economic agents (such as government, private sector and workers). The regional focus of her dissertation is on East Germany with historical focus on the case of German reunification.
