Ermis Lafazanovski was born 1961 in Cluj (Romania).
Ermis Lafazanovski works as Scientific Counselor at the Marko Cepenkov Institute for Folklore in Skopje, which is the leading ethnographic research institute in the Republic of Macedonia. He has a particular interest in oral history and in text interpretation, which resulted in several book publications. In his research, he employs interdisciplinary approaches, combining literature, history and anthropology.
Ermis is also one of the best known contemporary Macedonian writers.
