In the Face of Crisis in Contamporary Ukraine: Mykola Ridnyi's Screening and Talk
In the face of the lasting Ukrainian crisis, the experience of war, new political consciousness and the immanent social transformation, the role of the artist is also radically changing. This is the stance of Charkiv based artist Mykola Ridnyi*, expressed in his various texts and public statements and underlying his work which questions fragments of this challenging reality, its irrevocable documents through an experimental play. The world of mass mediated evidences is defamiliarized by the emerging fictional and metaphoric dimensions. Ridnyi's works represent a visual exposition of today’s conflicts.
