Case Study: Moldova
Ala is a Ph.D. student at the State University of Moldova, at the Department of International Relations and Public Administration. In 2004 she received her M.A.degree in International Relations and European Studies. Since 2003 Ala has been a lecturer at the Free International University of Moldova. Her main research interests for this project dwell in assessing the tension between regional (local) vs. national identities. Ala is especially interested in the reasons that make the majority of the population in Transdniestria and minorities of Moldova to have a keen sense of a regional identity and an attachment to Dniester-Soviet values.
