PhD, is a freelance consultant for the Flensburg-based European Centre for Minority Issues. His research interests include state-building and democratic transformation in the Former Soviet Union, as well as issues regarding national minorities in the southern Caucasus. He has recently published a book "Georgia from National Awakening to Rose Revolution: Delayed Transition in the Former Soviet Union", an analysis of the political regime in Georgia from 1988 to 2004.
