Research Initiative Urban Times
The interdisciplinary research initiative Urban Times addresses Globalizing City Regions (GCRs) as new core units of global politics, economics and culture. GCRs have thus begun to take on a growing political, economic, social, ecological, and cultural significance.
Exchange Program with the Elliott School of International Affairs
The exchange program between Freie Universität Berlin and the Elliott School of International Affairs, George Washington University, provides selected candidates with the opportunity to study for one or two semesters at the Elliott School. The two-semester exchange is a full-degree program and will be conducted in the framework of the Elliott School's Master of International Studies.

MA International Relations
In cooperation with the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Free University Berlin, Humboldt University of Berlin and the University of Potsdam offer a double-degree Master's program in International Relations (MAIR). Students enrolled in the double-degree program spend the first year of their studies in Berlin/Potsdam and the second year in Moscow, working towards a German and a Russian Master's Degree at the same time.
